Portugal Golf Holidays
It does not get much better than an Algarve golf holiday. With championship golf courses galore surrounding the popular golfers' resort of Vilamoura and a huge selection of courses and hotels dotted throughout the Algarve.
From the golf-rich regions of the Central Algarve including Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura to the stunning Tavira in the East along with Alvor and Lagos in the West. There is a selection of resorts, hotels and golf courses to suit everyone.

Vilamoura has been the golf break capital of Europe for many years and with numerous championship golf courses within a short shuttle distance from your hotel, great restaurants, busy bars and stunning marina - it is easy to see why!

The Algarve has some hidden gems to explore and we highly recommend staying in the Eastern Algarve where the scenery is spectacular, it is more of an authentic Portuguese experience, the golf courses excellent and real value for money too.

Lagos in the Western Algarve is another favourite of ours, a traditional cobbled street seaside town with real character and great for combining a golf and beach break all in one. From Lagos, you can play a selection of great golf courses including Palmares, Boavista whilst not being far from Vilamoura if wishing to sample golf in this area.

If looking to stay and play at a golf resort where you just need to walk onto the first tee after breakfast then our recommendations include the Penina Golf Resort with 18-hole Championship course onsite, Pestana Vila Sol with 27 holes onsite, magnificent Monte Rei with Jack Nicklaus signature design on your doorstep or the all-inclusive Robinson Club with the 36 holes at Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima onsite.

Portugal - Weather Guide:
Thanks to its fantastic weather and top-quality golf courses, Portugal is one of Europe’s most popular destinations for a golfing holiday or a short golf break.

With over 300 sunny days every year, even winter days remain warm. This means that no matter when you decide to visit, you can usually expect to enjoy a round of golf in a light wear polo shirt and a pair of tailored shorts to complement the warm weather.

For a sunny golfing break, Portugal is now more popular than ever. Combine your golf escape with a peaceful, seaside retreat including plenty of sightseeing in an idyllic town surrounded by Atlantic beaches.

The best time to visit Portugal is in spring (March-May), when the country is in bloom and waking after the winter. You could also go in autumn (between September and October) when the sun is still shining, the weather is warm, and many of the crowds have dispersed.
