Abergele Golf Club
Abergele is an 18-hole parkland course with picturesque views over the North Wales Coast and the historic Gwrych Castle Estate.
There are many beauty spots across the course, allowing you to take a moment to admire the beautiful views.
For example, upon completing the 17th – gentle compared to some of the other courses in the locality – you can stand back and admire the distant views of Blackpool Pleasure Beach or, on a clear day, the Isle of Man some 70 miles away. With strategically placed bunkers to trap the unwary, many par four holes may be challenging to newcomers.
The par five holes of the course are renowned for their distinct features.
Early in the course, the 3rd has left and right hazards, making it a sound driving hole with its green cut into a ledge on the distant slope.
Undoubtedly, the signature hole at Abergele is the 18th, which will see you complete your round in front of a welcoming crowd on the balcony of the Clubhouse.
One cannot advise on the best approach; however, even the most experienced golfers may exercise caution to protect a medal card. The 18th will likely remain in the visitor’s mind for a long time.
